While I don't think Google is a loving and kind employer by any means I'm not sure their firing process is especially evil. If they're able to fire 10,000 people and maintain a similar product with few changes it's likely that the value those 10,000 people were adding wasn't especially crucial. Additionally, getting fired from anywhere isn't a great look on your resume but at least having the Google name on your resume shows employers you did make it through a rigorous hiring process at a renown company.
