How Did I Not Know About This LinkedIn Hack?
A 9-step, 32 second step-by-step process to boost your professionalism!
I’ve been using LinkedIn for years and never knew I was making this simple mistake.
In today’s digital age it’s important to curate your digital presence. What appears when you Google search your name? Hopefully, nothing incriminating — old college pictures you wish you’d never posted or your mom’s unflattering Facebook photos of you as a teen.
If you want to increase the professional results people get when they search you online you may want to consider customizing your LinkedIn URL.
Prior to finding out about this tip my LinkedIn URL looked something like this:
www.linkedin.com/tanner-hauck-47334
Not bad but not great, my LinkedIn wasn’t even appearing on the first page of Google despite my semi-unique name.
After learning about customized LinkedIn URL’s, mine now looks like this:
In addition to looking cleaner my LinkedIn profile now ranks third in Google when you search my name! Way higher than before and hopefully it’s pushed off those embarrassing Facebook photos to the second page.
